“I drive from here all the way up to Placentia. Well, it’s about two hours on the bus. [I’ve been driving] for about a year and a half. It’s because an opportunity arose. Actually, I was a cable installer for almost 20 years. I’m looking to settle into my retirement a bit easier rather than, you know, still climb poles, or go into attics, or underneath houses. I don’t want to be doing that when I get old.

I like fishing. I love to play cards. That’s pretty much all the time I got. I actually like freshwater fishing: lakes, streams. I go float tubing. It’s like an inner tube type of thing, and I sit in it. I got a little flippers on my feet and I pedal around the lake. And I fish that way. Yup! A lot of fun. [I like] rainbow trout. I also do some bass fishing. Once in a while, I come out here, and I do some surf fishing.

I actually go to different card clubs: Commerce Casino, Bicycle Club, Hawaiian Gardens, anywhere where they spread seven-card stud, no limit hold-em. And I’ve been doing that now for 15 years. It’s nice to meet people, I’ll tell ya that.”
