A few hours ago, I attended my first Homecoming as a UCI student. I must say, it was the most enjoyable UCI game I have been to so far (although perhaps that is not saying much, considering how infrequently I have shot sports these past few years…). The only other time I had ever seen the bleachers in the Bren Events Center so filled was during Freshmen Commencement – and then could not even begin to compare to the incredible energy in the crowd tonight.
Apparently, I also stood next to a certain actor from Glee and was completely oblivious of his presence. Well, at least until a friend or three pointed him out (at which point I was no longer within arm’s distance).
It was an extremely close and exciting basketball game against Long Beach State. The Anteaters eventually pulled ahead with a ten point win (86-76). Zot zot!
