While my domain name goes to waste (anyone want to help design a template for me? :D), I decided to make use of this empty blog.

Having failed to procure a job before July or get in any of the classes I needed at the local community college, my mother happily shipped me off to Taiwan (Hooray for discounted Eva Air tickets!). My parents agreed that being in Taiwan would be better worth the time and money than me enrolling in summer school at my university. I disagreed, but that is a different story.

Taiwan was more humid than I remembered from my trip two years ago. However, the mosquitoes seem to like me just as much, if not more.

So, somehow, I landed this wonderful opportunity to assist a commercial photographer in Taiwan (As my cousin pointed out, it’s rather funny how I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do in Taiwan; then, after a few days, suddenly have an unpaid job). Anyway, despite being able to see celebrities, models, associations with large companies and the whatnot, this job is not exactly the most glamorous. First, most of the time, I am not allowed to take pictures with or of the models. Second, the hours vary (the most so far, has been about 14 hours). There is quite a bit of downtime, but by the end of the day, my feet are usually sore. Also, since I have limited Mandarin and Taiwanese capabilities, I come across barriers in communication.

Because I had little to no experience with the equipment and my Mandarin was lacking in camera terms, it seemed that I had to start all over. This wire goes with this light. This is the button to shift the f-stop up. And so forth.

Am I lucky? Well, I’m not skilled – at least not yet.
